And here is the last in a flurry of new releases. The Lace Collection has been our little secret jewel, in the planning since Shetland Wool Week. There are pieces in Jamieson & Smith 1 and 2 Ply Supreme from some of our favourite designers in Shetland and further afield…

And with that, some changes are afoot at J&S. Sarah is off to pastures new. From Monday, Ella and Sandra will be taking care of the blog as well as keeping in touch through Twitter, Facebook, Ravelry and email. We’ve written this post together, saying hello and goodbye at the same time. Wish us all luck…
where is number 9
9 is Tether by Ysolda Teague x
All beautiful works. But nr. 7, “Shetland Bound” is absolutely fabulous !!!
Well done, Monique, you deserve your place in here.
Are these patterns to be published in a book? I never buy kits, but would buy a book which included these patterns, they are a lovely collection.
I didn’t like the Shetland Crescent by looking at the picture on your blog, but looked it up on Ravelry and just had to put it in my queue 🙂
thanks Lou, there are no plans at the moment but you never know! x
From Now on we call Monique…The one and only EMPRESS OF LACE!
Pass my greetings on to Sandra please and tell her that we won’t be able to come to Shetland together..but we cherish the memories and the shopping at J&S XXJan…
I love Monique Boonstra, she knitted the finest Shetland lace!!!
Oh, stunning:: beautiful work. Cheers!
Wonderfull, the 2012 lace-collection is mindblowing… Monique’s design “Shetland Bound” is the finest. Empress of Lace ought te be replaced with the “Goddess of Lace” (or somewhat bigger yet…) Mind you: she learned the trick by trial and error, with no help whatsoever…
beautiful work
What a stunning collection! I am a starter and will follow a few workshops by Monique Boonstra. Please make a book with patterns or kits with these lovely shawls!
Quarry by Ina Irvine is my favourite one but they are all lovely. 🙂
